1. Why use a Nickel Free System.

Nickel has been shown to cause skin allergies in a portion of the population and in some cases very severe rashes and even infections have resulted. It is therefore essential if you wish to sell fashion jewellery in a number of European Countries that the plating on the products contain no nickel.

1. Nickel Free Plating by Silvergleam

At Silvergleam we have adopted a system for plating without nickel using Cybron*. Cybron* is a plating process that deposits an alloy of copper,zinc & tin to form a barrier layer between the initial copper undercoat and the final precious metal deposit. In addition to providing a method of producing nickel free deposits the colour of the deposit from the Cybron* solution is like a pale gold finish so as an undercoat for gold also provides an additional deposit of yellow metal to increase the wearability of subsequent yellow gold deposits.
